Martin Gretschmann, aka Acid Pauli, is a Berlin-based DJ, who has been exploring the fields of music for the past 20 years. What started out as a computer-based live act has now morphed into a dancefloor-focused hybrid live/DJ performance, yet reserves the freedom to experiment. 

With two albums under his belt, Acid Pauli never ceases to amaze with his ability to create amazing sounds for his audience. His music not only incorporates techno and house, but a wide variety of music across genres beyond dance music.

Âme is the producer duo consisting of Frank Wiedemann and Kristian Beyer. Drawing inspiration from Chicago house and Detroit techno, Âme knows how to create a unique take on melodic techno and beyond. The goal is to make you forget about time and space. Âme will be a DJ performance solely by Kristian Beyer at Karrusel.

The Latvia-born, Copenhagen-based DJ Anna Logic draws inspiration from the different electronic subcultures she has been a part of. Anna Logic’s mixes are genrefluid: somewhere between disco and gabber. Anna tries to play with different sounds and break down boundaries with contrasts and mixed feelings. Soft and hard. Old and new. Fun and serious. Her sound is often also characterised by being acid-dominant and rave-positive. Anna’s performances can be described as fresh, combined with an unapologetically high standard when it comes to track selection. Furthermore, Anna is the co-founder of Before The Afterparty events from Aarhus - a project she is now trying to bring to Copenhagen.

The queer duo Cockwhore & Macho will bless us with their own take on early House sounds & Disco embracing irresistible danceability. Being partners in life and in music, the duo has a strong prelove for the underground scene, and has been playing almost everywhere in Denmark, and various places abroad. They always deliver an exceptional sonic experience of powerful dance music that embraces queerness, as their music is heavily influenced by queer culture with their energetic and vibrant beats. Furthermore, Cockwhore & Macho use their platform to raise awareness and promote diversity and inclusivity in the scene, and their music can be seen as a celebration of queer culture.

DJ, label owner, party organiser, and sonic soul-seeker Dee Brown immerses listeners in an emotional journey which has cemented him as a central figure in the Danish underground dance scene. Since the age of thirteen, Dee Brown has contributed to the Danish underground dance music culture. With his exceptional technical finesse combined with the skill to deliver unforgettable performances, Dee Brown melds all kinds of music that makes you both move and feel. In addition, Dee Brown is the organiser behind the party series All We Need that facilitates safer dance spaces for soulful music.

Born on the sea shore of Zealand and raised in Copenhagen, Hugo Svare aka DJ sea view combines his roots and upbringing into his sound waves and sets. Additionally, he is half part of the duo Deck Riders. Get ready for a set with fresh and fast-paced electronic beats. As DJ sea view sets sail, he transports his audience wherever the sea will take you.

The Norwegian DJ and producer Mikkas aka Djuma Soundsystem is known for the modern classic album release “Les Djinns", as well as his countless gigs internationally and releases on famous labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Get Physical and Eskimo Recordings. Djuma Soundsystem has always kept a clear focus on a deep feeling with melodies and lots of room for emotions in his house and techno productions. Djuma is known for producing catchy sonic pleasers, yet still underground.

Do you want to have the time of your life? This is the mission of Eski - to bring bounce and ease to your being through deep bass mixed with either occasional Hip-hop or cheese bombs. Shining around the clubs and raves in Copenhagen, the emerging Danish DJ delivers colourful sonic performances that maintain a sense of quality and amusement. Her take on deep house, melodic and minimal techno (and grated cheese) showcases her ear for phenomenal sound and technical finesse making her an outstanding DJ to present at Karrusel 2023. Eski is especially known for being a part of the Danish ØVSA collective that for years has been serving exceptional parties at the Distortion Festival. Expect a set that is searching for fun and making you smile and groove, while feeling the bass in your core. It’s deep, it’s dirty, and it’s downtempo. We are pleased to present the hydra-sonic electronic musician that has seduced Copenhagen’s fast-paced electronic music scene with her musical charm.

Felix Wagner and Aaron Röbig are the ones behind the German electronic duo FJAAK. Having grown up together in Spandau on the outskirts of Berlin, the duo started making music at an early age before joining the infamous techno scene of Berlin and founding the label Spandau. 

Today their tracks range from reflecting powerhouse to storming warehouse techno, sometimes with a mix of UK garage dub and breakbeat. Moreover, FJAAK mostly composes their tracks entirely on analogue equipment. 

What started as small raves in the forest in Spandau, later turned into regular appearances at the Berlin club Berghain and numerous big festivals. This year, they are bringing their driving, energetic dance tracks to Karrusel.

The Australian-born, London-based DJ and producer, HAAi, will bring her frenetic energy and pounding bass to Karrusel this year. 

During the pandemic, HAAi put all of her energy into producing, mixing, and writing tracks. All this hard work resulted in her debut album ‘Baby, We’re Ascending’ released on Mute which presents you with tunes from hardcore, echoey beats to sweeping, colorful synth lines and bright, warped vocal samples.

The Berlin-based duo Haensen&Gretel take you through their enchanting tunes with the swampy, bassy downtempo universe and fly high with playful, energetic rhythms and warm-hearted hymns. Get ready to explore a fairy tale of a set with crispy basses, enchanted evergreens, downbeat, slow disco, and a pinch of surprise.

The Danish DJ, Organzier & Vinyl Connoisseur Harrison Heat has captivated the city through the years due to his prime selection of House music as well as hosting the beyond successful Pleasure Control parties. With several residents at iconic venues in his portfolio, it is a must to experience the local talent’s technical abilities combined with his digging skills, impeccable taste in music and the palatable pure joy with which he plays.

“If I die today, I’ll die happy” is exactly the spirit that the Leipziger-by-choice underground talent Judith van Waterkant conveys in her so-called Mindset-Sets, in a downbeat-comfort zone between 90-115 BPM on the dance floors.
Her expertise lies in creating captivating deep, energetic, and at times dark soundscapes that elevates the spirits of their audience. Things that normally wouldn’t work, simply work. You can catch the burgeoning artist on the Tribunen stage bringing a mesmerising melodic fantasy.

At Karrusel 2021 she blew us away leaving the crowd hungry for more with her dark and sexy signature sound. Driving grooves with a crisp edge and psychedelic textures, Katz-K is a prime figure in the Copenhagen nightlife scene as well as abroad. She moves between minimal Deep-Tech, Psy-Tech & Dark Grooves while creating a synergy between the crowd and the music. Through her sets, you are introduced to her cosmic universe of synth fantasies and techno beats resulting in mad dance-floor chaos wherever she plays. To see her play is to feel like you know her, to be drunk on her verve and we are beyond excited to present once again this shining star at Karrusel 2023.

Kölsch is considered one of the leading melodic techno producers and DJs in the world. The Danish native has played some of the most prominent electronic music stages in the world, ranging from a concert at the top of the Eiffel Tower to the main stage at Tomorrowland. Last year, we also had the pleasure of hearing his sounds at the Distortion Ø Festival. 

Kölsch’s work proved to rewrite the rulebook on techno production, setting it on a melodic, emotion-induced course. In 2013 he released his debut album ‘1977’, followed by the albums ‘1983’, ‘1989’, and ‘Now Here No Where’.

Through a regular stream of high-quality mixes and performances, Mads Lorenzen has kept turning heads in the underground scene leading him to his second performance at Karrusel Festival. The Danish rave-master is a stellar example of the underground sound of Denmark hosting his own raves around secret spots around  Denmark. His style is surprising, yet catchy, and will certainly take you on a journey with his deep pounding bass, synth work and mysterious melodies. This music magician behind the deck will without a doubt elevate your soul and move your body with his deep love for House and Techno.

The iconic UK native Marsha Smith aka MarshMeLLo will take you on a musical journey at Karrusel. Over the last two decades, she has gotten a deep understanding of the evolution of black British music. Her music is greatly influenced by her experience from club culture, anything between the Rare Groove movement of the early 90’s to today’s New Jazz wave. Marsha Smith is also one of the founding hosts of the global online radio station NTS Radio. Marsha's show Midnight Marauders was the first show ever broadcast on the station.

MarshMeLLo will play Saturday 26 August 2023.

The Copenhagen-based DJ and producer McAdam is bringing his electronic sets to Karrusel. With over a decade of experience, he knows how to reach the audience in just the right way with sonic vibrations. He has been playing at numerous illegal raves and clubs around the city and is now hosting events with the art collective Con Feria under the name Nymfe. 

McAdam’s sounds range widely from 00’s Scandinavian, progressive trance into progressive house, dub and deep bass with rich spiritual sounds. With inspiration from the sounds of nature, tribal ancestors, and music that complements psychedelic experiences, McAdam challenges both himself and the crowds with his musical journey.

The German DJ Mira makes music that immediately transports you into her world - a midnight circus in Berlin, where the concept of time and space no longer exists. She began DJing in 1996, where she quickly made a name for herself as part of the growing underground scene around Leipzig and Halle/Saale. From that point, Mira greatly helped influence the electronic music scene of Eastern Germany. In other words, Mira has been at the height of her game for the past twenty years, continuously shaping the sounds around her, and never ceasing to push inspiring new artists.

We're thrilled to present Narciss, one of the most interesting new names on the European techno scene. Narciss is quite unpredictable when it comes to their music. You can’t have any expectation of what kind of music direction Narciss will take you in because they are always surprising. However, what you can expect from listening to Narciss is an energy of overboarding joy paired with body-moving grooves putting smiles on anyone in the crowd.

They understand what makes people move physically and emotionally. Claiming influences from a dozen genres from all angles of the spectrum makes them an absolute experience to witness behind the decks.

Okine is a Copenhagen-based DJ, radio host, and musician who is always trying to challenge modern dance floors. Only adhering to quality, and never genre, Okine defy boundaries which are evident in his outstanding sound and unique style. As a solid pillar in the Danish underground scene, Okine is bringing all the house music you need with his contagious love for global sounds.

The genius Berlin-based artist is a pioneer when it comes to intelligent dance music. From club kid to head honcho, Powerstranger manages and books Berlin’s original Tal der Verwirrung. With broad love for music and open eyes on the global scene, he delivers stunning peak-time performances and twisted after-hour tales. 

After developing his taste in the rich musical landscape of Berlin’s club scene, he took a leap and started his own weekly electronic radio show at a local radio station. A few club gigs later Timo became a resident of Berlin’s infamous event series 'Tal der Verwirrung', where he quickly initiated its label activity. With his instinct and versatile sound, he  dazzles clubs around the world solidifying his reputation as a highly sought-after performer.

Richie Hawtin is a genuine original. As a performing artist, he is constantly pushing conceptual frontiers. What he is doing today would have seemed pure science fiction, when he began his career. The New York Times called him one of the electronic dance world’s intellectual forces. 

As a teenager, Hawtin was into Detroit techno. In 1993, he set the techno world alight with the birth of Plastikman on the Spastik single and Sheet One album. Where Plastikman began as stark techno, it later bloomed into something more thoughtful like 1998’s strange, but wonderful ‘Consumed’ album. 

Since the 1990s, Richie Hawtin has made his mark on not only the world’s techno scene, but also on the world in general as the evolving and experimenting artist he is. Hawtin will, as ever, be revelling in the possibilities of whatever comes next.

A party is exactly what you can expect from the three DJs that make up RSS Disco. The trio has become synonymous with euphoric experiences for festival and club audiences all over Europe. They stand for synthesizer disco, acid-dripping house, and psychedelic techno like few other electronic musicians. RSS Disco knows how to generate goosebumps on dance floors all over the world. We can’t wait for them to give us the chills at Karrusel this year.

As a musician, performer, and label head Satori, born Djordje Petrovic, is a multifaceted artist. He manages to create a unique experience for his audience by combining all aspects of artistry in a persona. He often combines his own productions with improvisation by incorporating traditional instruments like the guitar, keys, or flute. 

Having roots from both Serbia and South Africa, Satori’s music is influenced by Balkan music, Afrobeat and everything in between. His mix of different cultures has led Satori to push the boundaries of what electronic music can sound like, creating a sublime, distinctive style, which is exactly what makes him different from others. 

Satori has played on stages worldwide, from Coachella to EXIT Festival in Serbia. He treats each performance as a blank canvas that makes the shows dynamic and electric, leaving fans with an ever-lasting taste for more.

Schaarup is an energetic DJ from Copenhagen and the co-creator of the Housefrau DJ collective. Her sound varies from everything between melodic house and techno to afro-house and indie dance. Her biggest source of inspiration is the sounds and clubs of Berlin.

What started out as gigs in small bars in Copenhagen has evolved into playing at big festivals, fashion shows and touring around Europe. Schaarup will definitely evoke your feelings and body at Karrusel.

Known for his obsession with slow-mixing dark disco and heavy bass-dripping beats, the Hamburg native Schwofdrossel always surprises with his unique and experimental sets, which are a true progression that invites you to dance. Since making his debut at Culture Box and Ved Siden Af, the talented artist has created the succesful Copenhagen Collective “Raveshalvøen” and has been playing several times in Germany as well. Mastering dynamic soundscapes and hard-hitting atmospheres, Schwofdrossel shares his energy with the crowd through variances of different sub-genres of electronic music and brings forth the finest music.

The South Sudan/Australian DJ and Producer Skin On Skin’s unique and forward-thinking blend of smoke-out techno, classic house, and alternative hip-hop has people from all over the world longing for his music. 

In 2019, Skin On Skin dropped his first EP on Newcastle label Steel City Dance Discs, including the underground classic ‘Multiply’. Since then his career has continued on its upward curve, and he has been touring around the world at different venues and festivals - including his long-awaited Boiler Room debut AVA Festival.

The Swedish-born, Berlin-based DJ SPFDJ, Lina Jonsson, is known for inspiring debauchery and sweat-soaked hedonism. Being a part of the underground techno scene in both London and Berlin has made her an established DJ with remarkable energy, style, and attitude. Not many can claim to experience as meteoric, grassroots ascent as SPFDJ, and that is exactly what makes her different from other DJs. 

SPFDJ’s sounds are typically at a blistering high tempo that takes no prisoners in its exploration of strains of techno, acid, EBM, hardcore, and trance. Even Ben UFO called her style ‘utterly ruthless’. Let’s just say - SPFDJ knows how to throw a proper party with a unique atmosphere.

If you have not yet experienced the Copenhagen-based Tight Cherry, this is your chance to witness the characteristic lady challenge the boundaries of ambient techno, deep house, and alternative dance music. Playing at prestigious venues such as Culture Box, Hangaren, Ved Siden Af and more, we are thrilled to present this boundless talent at this year’s Karrusel, as she showcases her undeniable musical prowess and technical knowledge. Tight Cherry knows how to keep the party going for many hours - hopefully, you will keep up with her energy.

Starting DJ’ing in the early  80s, the Copenhagen-based deep house devotee, VÄM, is a primary figure in the Danish underground scene and co-creator of the popular electronic music parties FluxCph and Luna Tec. He is playful in his approach to genres and creates a flirtatious atmosphere with tracks by producers from around the world. His sets are an assured, kinetic combination of melodic house, organic house, progressive techno pulsing abstract compositions as he is moved by all kinds of vibes. From deep and slow dark house and down-tempo influenced to higher and more intense beats, VÄM delivers a fascinating soundscape and true dance mania.

Bulgarian-born and Copenhagen-based Vixen is in the spotlight in the flourishing European fast techno scene. She is part of Copenhagen's DIY rave collective Fast Forward and is also a resident at queer sex-positive party series Bedside. Vixen's productions have contributed to pushing the Copenhagen sound further, carrying a fresh and dreamy touch to it. On the floor, you can expect an equally energetic, eclectic, and playful mix of heavy grooves, tongue-in-cheek vocals, and trance-inspired melodies.

The Polish DJ and producer Martyna Maja aka VTSS has easily established herself as one of the most vital, uncompromising, and visible talents on the techno scene in the past few years. VTSS has become a regular at Berghain and has played numerous big gigs from Amsterdam’s De School to Glastonbury’s Arcadia.

Drawing inspiration from the Berlin, London, and Warshaw music scenes, VTSS’s sets can be anything from trance and hardcore industrial techno to her newer sets with a more pop-ish take. In other words; VTSS can bring anything to the table, but it will definitely be worth your time.

Worldy presents

Starting the festival with a bang, Worldy fires up that smooth and groovy world music representing the local master DJs and record fanatics Storm, Boogie Rookie, Morten Mccoy, Futte Rico, Søren Skov, Navan & guest DJ Seb Dalmar to spread good vibes and boogie at Karrusel 2023. 

For the yet uninitiated, WORLDY is a six-strong DJ collective that resides at the Danish Underground Club Bolsjefabrikken and plays flavorful dance music from non-Western countries. Look forward to hearing music from wonderful places like Turkey, Iran, India, Thailand, Sudan, Ethiopia, Zambia, South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Cape Verde, Trinidad & Tobago, Colombia, Brazil and many more!

The record friends strive to widen the musical spectrum of Copenhagen nightlife and take their audiences on a cultural journey. Some of the local DJs may be totally off the grid when it comes to social media, yet it is guaranteed that they have one of Europe’s best collections of Italian disco, Turkish grooves, Arabic funk & Bellydance.

Their parties at Bolsjefabrikken have gained legendary status in Copenhagen and the crew have been featured on many festival lineups including Roskilde, Avernax and 48 Timer. They’re back in full force for the first time in three years at Karrusel where they’re also bringing on Seb Dalmar who’ll be spinning his pristine selection of Arabic disco and funk - Let’s groove!
